J-Live - Then What Happened (2008)

Si, tal cual como lo leiste en nuestra sección noticias la semana pasada, el neoyorquino que desde hace años viene deleitándonos con su buena música acaba de lanzar su nuevo disco. Aunque la fecha oficial de lanzamiento es dentro de 2 días mas, desde hace un par de días atrás es posible encontrarlo dando vueltas en las redes P2P. Este es un álbum con mucho carisma y altos toques de jazz, que ademas contiene las influencias musicales de cada uno de los personajes que pusieron su huella, como Dj Spinna y Jazzy Jeff en los beats o Oddisee y Posdanous en las rimas. Un álbum que desde principios no solo promete, sino que entrega buena música tanto en instrumentales, rimas y scratch. Verdaderamente no hacen falta muchas palabras para describir la línea que ha seguido J-Live durante su carrera, un personaje digno a imitar.

If this record doesn't sell, I will not be able to dedicate my time to making more music. This is my occupation as well as my passion. I worked too hard on this record for people that had nothing to do with the process to be giving it away for free to people that claim to be "fans" and hip hop heads. To "have fun" listening to this and then post it for free is like campaigning for one person and voting for the opposition. Don't be mad when you're stuck with 4 more years of bullshit and the rich keep getting richer. And please don't rationalize this as spreading the word or promoting.
